Default Running problem after new head unit

-2003 1500 4.8 v8- No bose system or on star.

So I took the factory head unit out today and put in an aftermarket head unit. After I was complete with the wiring I was headed home and the check engine light turned on, it was idling below 500 rpm's and it felt like it had no power. Couldn't find anything online about this problem. Can anyone help me with this?

Maybe try disconnecting your battery for a bit. Also, double check your wiring. Sounds like a possible grounding issue. If you can pull some codes from your CEL, that might also point ya in the right direction.

Just a little info to make sure you don't have a problem when disconnecting your battery and reconnecting your battery, if you don't disconnect the negative first and hook negative back up first you can blow alot of your fuses and won't start when you hook everything back up. I didn't know this and blew fuses when hooking my battery back up.

You may have wired faulty. Recheck your wiring connections and make sure that the contacts from the battery to your head unit are fine.

More than likely it has nothing to do with the radio. Try cleaning the throttle body

Did the aftermarket radio need any extra connections like VSS, backup signal or tach for nav or anything??

So I got my truck scanned at advance auto and the guy told me it had to do with all the solenoids in the transmission (shift solenoid and ect).
