Service Engine Soon Light

Hey guys, I have a 1998 K1500 with the 5.7L v-8. Yesterday my "service engine soon" light came on and I drove it down to my friend, who works at a shop and he ran the codes with his reader. It came back as "Misfire cylinder 4". Today we replaced the wires and spark plugs, as the truck has around 93k on it. Everything went smooth and when we got finished, the service soon light was still on. My buddy told me to disconnect the negative wire to my battery and leave it for around 10 minutes and that would reset it. I did, and when I started it, it was still on....any help on how to reset it? Oh yeah, the truck ran fine...i think it only misfired one time when I was driving on the freeway...that is when the light came on in the first place. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks

Take the negative battery cable off again for a longer period. If it comes on again when you start the engine read the code again ... you may have another problem.
