Default Shift Light

On my 97 silverado the dash has a light that tells me when to shift gears and im tired of it, anyone know who to get that to stop

You could just unplug the light. It is there for a reason, though on my stepdads 95 I never paid it much mind. I dogged that truck pretty hard when I still lived in Texas.

i know the reasoning for it is a recommendation on when to shift cause if you press on the accelerator more the light goes away, i baby my i don't get down on it cause i want it to last till i get out of the corps and go to college. how would i go about removin the light isn't there a fuse i could pull?

There may be a fuse for that light, I'm unsure though.

No fuse, you just have to take the bulb out of the dash cluster or learn to not stare at it...

i have really good periphural vision (however you spell it) not staring at it doesn't work for me, ill remove the bulb

It can be annoying if the bulb is bright, my 92 i guess you could barely see it so it never bothered me.

Easier way would be to just put a small piece of black electrical tape over it, could save a little time by not tearing out the entire dash and speedo units just to remove a bulb.
