Default Silverado & Boat Towing

I'm going to be pulling a boat this weekend for about 120 miles. My dad doesn't want me to ruin my transmission (he worries a lot). I have a 2007 Silverado 4x4 with the MAX trailer package. I have about 126,000 miles on it now. Any suggestions to keep the transmission running smooth would be greatly appreciated!

I have a 1994 454 C6p which is about the same thing you have as far as the tow package is concerned if I am reading the options right and mine will pull a aircraft carrier. You shouldn't have a problem.Someone else with more knowledge will likely confirm or debunk my info.Hope this helps.

It won't have a problem with it. Just keep it in tow haul mode and let it ride. Just don't get on it at every stop light and stop sign like its a race car

How big is this boat? It must be massive to cause any concern.

My 98 Z71 with 204,000 miles and it pulls 7,000 pounds every day for my job and I've been doing it for 2 years. If mine can you'll be perfectly fine

Yea I have a '98 Z71 extended cab with 235,000 miles and still has the original motor and trans. I put a fifth wheel in it and pull a horse trailer with two 1500 lb horses about twice a year and have no issues at all. So unless you are trying to pull an oceanliner you should have no problems even with repeated use.
