Silverado Brake Problem
Hello,
I have a 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500 with rear drum brakes that constantly squeal when applied. I have had the drums turned and brakes shoes replaced, still got squeal from new aftermarket brakes. Finally brought new drums and another set of new brakes , this made no difference either. I was wondering if anyone else had any experience similiar to mine on their Silverado. This is the only problem I have with my truck.
Thanks,
2005 Chevy Silverado 1500 Crew Cab Z-71 , (4x4)

Automatic transmission

I have a 98 K1500 with a similar problem. I did some work and found my self adjusters weren't working. I got the truck from a friend and the parts were bent and not contacting the adjusting arm. I fixed that and things are better now, but still that noise once in a while. Somewhere in here is a terrific post about it. The master cylinder is chambered to operate the rear brakes in a certain way, and that can be an issue. Also, the flex hose from the frame crossmember to the differential housing can become restricted. Sometimes bubbles form inside a flex hose whether fuel, brakes, or hydraulic, and that's not good either. I was trying to find that post when I saw this.
