I have a 99' Silverado Ex-cab that I bought used some 5-6yrs ago. It is slowly rusting out BAD in front of my eyes!! I am not too worried about it since it is basically beyond any repair without dumping a ton of money into it to repair.

The rocker panels on the cab are rusted completely through! Is it even worth trying to find replacement parts or new rockers or would it be best suited to try and salvage with fiberglass?? I am thinking that the new/used rocker panels are just going to rust away anyhow??

I did purchase the truck in an area that was very salt oriented with all the snow they get as there was a small amount of surface rust when I purchased it but it wasnt bad. Although over the years it has gone completely downhill because this truck sits more then it runs!! I have a bad habit of using it when needed and then just parking it, IDIOT I AM!!

 

is it a "show" or is it a "go" truck?
