Slow keyless entry problem

Hello all, newbie here. I bought my 01 CC Dually brand new in 01 and have never had any problems with it until now. The keyless entry had always worked great and from long distances. I noticed yesterday that it now is not responsive. I have to hold the button down much longer than normal and also I have to be quite close to the truck. I replaced the battery in the fob but to no avail. I tried my wife's fob and it has the same problem so it isn't the fob's. I did a resync and both fob's are synced. They work but not like it used to. Any ideas? I know there are two relays on the fuse block that control the locks and I can hear them clicking but not very responsive. I'm not sure how you remove them. Any help there? Thanks in advance for any help you folks might be able to give me.
