It runs fine knocks pretty good at first crank in the morning I think it is from the valves in the head it has over 200,000 miles on it I was thinking about a new crate motor for it or just new heads not sure yet

Mine, under load the motor starts knocking and increases with throttle, like in 3rd or 4th gear when trying to accelerate without downshifting or when i'm pulling a trailer. Found out today that mine is an oil burn, popped heads off to check the valves and about 5 of them you can wiggle around, valve guides are worn beyond limit

if they are factory heads then there are no adjustments. would either need to get heads rebuilt or buy new. i would personally just buy new. is more of a tick or is it a knock? because if it's a loud ticking on first start up than it's just the lifters making noise until the get oil
