Hello all! I just replaced my rear brake pads on my 2000 silverado a few weeks ago. Now whenever I'm done driving the driver's side brakes are smoking! Yet no contact apperared to have been made on the passanger side. Fulid is good. What might this be??
Thanks for in advanced for the info!

Is the rim hot to the touch?
could be a seized caliper. when you pushed the piston back there could have been a buildup of corrosion and now its stuck there. Also check the caliper pins. If they were not removed\cleaned\lubed, they could also be sticking.

Was it hard to compress the piston? Don't know about these particular calipers, but on some calipers you have to twist the piston as you compress it back into the caliper. If you don't sometimes the caliper is destroyed and you have to get a new one. Not saying that is the problem but just a thought.

Yes the rim is hot to the touch, and yes they were kind of hard to push back when I replaced them. Everything you guys have suggested to do I don't know how to do. So I might end up taking it in....
