Question 98 k1500 mt2500 questions

looking to purchase a mt-2500 scanner for personal use for my 98 k1500 5.7 vortec e-bay has quite a variety in all price ranges -- question is which cartrages should i be looking for ? t-shooting - trans ? and will standard cartrages cover abs (which light is on ) air bag (light is on ) security (light on ) service engine (light on ) i believe the colum has been changed seeing how door keys will not work in ign ? carfax reported a light hit in left front and i assume air bag went off ? or someone changed ign tumbler , has some harness problems ? any help would be great thank you kinger

The MT 2500 has been out dated for many years Snap on does not even support it anymore. To pull engine and trans codes you need the cartridge for your year. If I remember correctly ABS was on an different cartridge ( I could be wrong It has been a very long time). You do not have to have the trouble shooter but I highly recommend it because It is very helpful. It will tell you what normal data values should be, give you code tips, service bulletin information and even some tests.
