Sound System wired in, Truck won't start

Sound System wired in, Truck won't start
Hey guys,
I have a 2002 Silverado 1500
I was wiring the power cable through that big rubber grommet by cutting through it, like i had seen on some forums to do on this year of truck. I stupidly forgot to unhook the batter terminals, and as i pushed through it, i heard a beep inside the truck, a small amount of smoke come up, and now the truck will turn on, but dies almost immediately. Did i short out one of the wires, and if so, is there anything i could do to fix it? I called a shop and he was saying he though i could have triggered security, but everything on the truck is manual. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
