I have an 04 2500. Sometimes,when started there is a static noise coming from the ON Star speaker that is in the roof panel. This is the old analog type. I know there was something from GM about disconnecting these units. How is that done?

 

The little round thing looks like a speaker above your head has nothing to do with OnStar. It is the Ambient Temp Sensor for your Climate Control.
