Unhappy Starting problems on my 1997....

I drive a 1997 c-1500 ext. cab w. 2 wheel dr.
5.7 v8. I recently developed a starting problem.
Would start right up in the morning , if I go somewhere
Turn it off. It will not start for about thirty min....
I've replaced battery, and alternator . Starts right up!
After a few days now , doing it again! Start it , runs fine ,
14 on gauge , stop, turn it off- ( BARELY TURNS OVER )
BUT , WILL NOT start for 30- 1 hour ,
then starts pretty as you please ????
Any help would be greatly appreciated !
Ty,
Eric

Make sure your battery cables have a good connection at both ends. Look for corrosion or rust, or loose connections.

As per oldchevy, the wires are 17 years old now.

Many times the corrosion in the engine to firewall ground-strap,

or negative cable gets to the point where the cables

need total replacement.

What may be happening is the crud in the wire gets heated up

as the engine warms, causing resistance which the battery

can't overcome.

What's the mileage?

@ Kt404U...... I had the same problem with mine. I have an 98 C2500 5.7 vortec ext cab. Mine did the exact same thing. Cranks and starts right up everytime the first time. but if I go somewhere, like a store run, and come out 10-15 mins later it would crank slow, Id let it sit for 30-1hr, and hit the key. start right up.
I had a "BAD STARTER" when it got hot it would lag and crank very very slow or not at all. I too replaced my battery with a HD more CCA and still no joy. Bad Starter, its been 1 year and not a problem.
