Default starting trouble

I have a 4.3 litre that won't start when it's wet or even damp out. When it first started it had to be quite wet - lately it doesn't take much, took it to a garage and they replaced the cooling temp sensor. That didn't do it, when it was running I tried spraying the distributor with water but that didn't make any difference so i don't think the cap is cracked. Any ideas would be appreciated. It does roll over and act like it's trying to start but just chugs and spits and sputters.

Humid air can get in where a hose cant. I would start with a cap and wires.

Yake the cap off, hit it with WD-40, if it starts you need to replace the cap.

Well I don't think it's a distributor issue, nothing I did to that seems to make a difference, I'm wondering if maybe the coil could be shorting out?
