Default Stupid Engine Question?
How do you know which 5.3L engine you have? 295hp or 310hp. Bought the car used, knew it had the V8 5.3, but didn't know there were two versions.

the 5.3 in the trucks are the 295hp and the 5.3 in the trailblazer is the 310hp i asked GM this question once before

The 5.3l 295hp truck engine is cast iron block, the higher hp one is aluminum block.

Check you owners manual if you have one it should be listed in specs.
