so I got an old truck and her transmission has gone out. didn't pay much of anything for it but really need to get it working again just so I have a farm truck . But after looking at the prices it's going to cost me to get another four-wheel drive capable of transmission it would be almost double what I paid for the thing. Is it possible that there's another transmission that's rear wheel driven that's capable of swapping out with my four wheel drive? And if this is is there anything else that I have to change out with it? I know this is a strange fix but I'm seeing lots of old Chevy vehicles at a rear wheel driven that I can pick up a transmission for much cheaper.
