Tach don't work right
Hi All,
I just bought a 1992 C1500 SWB 2 wd pickup.
my Problem is the previous owner swapped out the 4.3 TBI V6 & installed
a 5.7 carburated V8 & the factory tach does not read right.
Is there any way to fix this short of replacing the tach with a V8 unit?
any help on this would be appreciated.
Thanks
Tom

No I don't know when it started, it was like that when I bought the truck.
I knew that the gearing & tire size (both are stock) affected the speedometer
but not the tach.
The tach is hooked right to the distributor.
