you could get a precision speed chip, or any other racing chip. my friend had one in his ford f-150. made it fast as hell.

Pretty sure, Powerchip has your vehcile model (but not 100%), I am using the powerchip tune on my Merc, and very pleased with Gain and reliability. visit their site to check cost and performance gain (hp/torque)

If your looking for more power I would go with Heads, rockers, lifters, cam and intake.

Why screw around? Obviously 300+ HP aint enough. Go to an airlines junkyard, and get a jet engine. Cost and fuel consumption isn't an issue, so google Artie Aarfons, and best of luck.

Just scrap that OEM POS, and weld that puppy in under the hood. Don't forget to make sure the exhaust doesn't overheat anything, and you're good to go.

well I'm not sure about jet engines... but typically this is a good rule of thumb

minimal cost/minimal gains = exhaust/filters/plugs/chip/etc
containable costs/decent gains = heads/blocks/bore/cams/pulleys/cranks/etc
higher cost/higher gains = supercharger/turbo
mega cost/mega gains = Rivereye's jets

If just looking for better off-the line perf, I would suggest looking at different gears and ratio's...

Check out Edelbrock and their specials; good cam companies are COMPcams and my personal favourite, Lunati. As MDTahoe said in another thread, its good to buy things in a set so you know they'll work together, and work well. You ought to be able to mix and match different spec cams in though.

They would warrant a decent horsepower gain, for sure.

What kind of gears do you have in your truck?

ok. ill look in to it. i jus put comp cams in my brothers 98 1500. that thing sounds nasty! exspecially wit the single in dual out glass pack. it took us full 24 hours to get the cam/lifters and high intake on. and runnin good.

umm i'm not totally sure what im rear gears are. they are not stock. but i didn put them in so i dont remember
