Default Tbi install

We converted our 1988 Chevy R30 454 7.4l. Tow truck back to the TBI system. The TBI we installed is newer, 1991. Do I need to hookup the the cooling system to through the TBI or can I get away with plugging the two holes on the TBI?

a warm tb and manifold helps prevent throttle body icing and the fuel atomization condensing onto the cold tb.

I don't know how critical it is for your setup.

Thank you. We have a deeper problem. We bought this but now we are not sure if the entire engine was changed from a 454 tbi, or just converted. The carburetor does not work well and installing the new TBI is heck. I found one number on the front left of the engine TCS479 but no info can be found. Is the the intake manifold going to fit if this 454 is an older year?
