Default Test for power mirror switch and ambient light sensor

Is there a test i can do to find out if the reason my power mirrors don't work is due to a faulty switch before i spend the $90 Chevy wants for a replacement? Also my headlights stay on unless i do the dome light button 4 times real fast trick, i'm assuming this is the $16 ambient light sensor that requires dismantling the entire cab to get to. Any test i can do to be sure it is also the culprit?

Steve I have 2001 Siverado and I need a switch the mirrors work every way but down, I don't know if there is a fuse to check or not. Probably will need to remove the panel or wherever the motor is and check with a volt meter. I'm not a mechanic sorry I couldn't be more help.
