Thin Paint on NBS 08?

RE: Thin Paint on NBS 08?
The glaze is a product by 3M generally used with a buffer, it's a very very very low grade abrasive and filler. I buy the ebony (i think it comes in a variety of colors) and if the scratch is just in the color coat (not down to primer or metal) itll compeltely fill it in. And if you use touchup with a light hand (not too much excess) you put some on a clean dry rag and buff it out by hand after the paint has completely hardened not just skinned up(i dont have a buffer and I'd be too afraid to burn through this paint). Dont be too gentle with it, it takes heat and friction for it to work well, but ill flatten down any touchup and itll fill in small surface scratches. If you're not afraid of the price, it'll even take off hard to remove water spots and rust stains from the paint. I *think* this is what I have at home, except mine's in a round bottle, I'll double check though: http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3...glWMD7RT4XCMbl
But its simple to use
1.) wash the area
2.) shake the bottle
3.) use a small amount (like maybe the size of a quarter for a 3 inch scratch)
4.) rub into the scratch with some pressure to build up heat and friction
5.) wipe excess off
no need to rinse or or anything, this also works real well if your paint has some scuffs or if a moving part has rubbed your paint off

I went and double checked, and its this: http://products3.3m.com/catalog/us/e...er/output_HTML
Haha, no one needs a 6 pack, I've had the same bottle for over 5 years. You can get single bottles (or atleast you used to be able to) at places like Discount Auto or Pepboys. If places like that dont have it, you can get them online.

I just went to yhe local paint supply house & bought a 1 quart bottle ( I have 2 black ones) & it seemed like the price was around $40.00, but I should never need any more!

Yep, I'm experiencing the same problem on my 08Silverado NBS, thin paint. Also, the interior is terribleabout catching lint and other matter. In fact, I've called the local auto salvage looking for a set of leather seats, but nothing.

DON'T rhino line the whole thing!! Imagine bodywork on an entirely rhino-lined truck. My dads truckbed has Super-liner which is a better product in my opinion.

I in agreement about the thin paint. Mine is an LTZ and I`ve got quite a few rock nicks. The La. roads are terrible. I checked into the 3M clear shield but no one around here does it. I guess I`ll just pop for a repaint in a few years.
