Default NBS paint

Anyone have luck with the dealer yet with the bad paint? I hand waxed my truck today and am sickened by the amount of lost paint. My wife's van with twice the miles has at least half the scars.

What kind of truck do you have? Where are you noticing the lost paint at?

08 NBS. Paint is falling off of the hood and sides (lower mainly). My 02, which sees the same gravel roads has less scratches and it is a long bed extended cab. This truck is a 4 door short bed.

well i dont know if it was just your year and model but i got my 98 and i baby it. waxed and waxed and waxed and im known for tellin ppl lean as long as no metal is showing on you or your dead. and the lightest tap from anything seems to take my precious paint thats why im taking classes and learning body work so im painting the whole thing myself and tons of clear coat and making it tougher than it already is.

As a matter of fact I was at thedealership this morning checking on my 07' Ext cab that's getting some body work doneto fixsome rear-end collision damage and I asked the Body Shop manager the same question. What is the stinking deal with the tiolet paper -thin paint?
He said it's because of the environmental people putting limits on the amount offumes from the painting process. Essentially. . . . they have to stay under a certain amount fumes and blah-blah-blah per day, so . . .the less amount of time each vehicle spends in the paint booth is the more vehicles they canget painted and stay under the limits. What that means to you and me????? Theymake moremoneyby making a reduced quality product. It sucks but i guess I'll just have to by some touch-up and stay on top of the chips.

GM had problems with silver tinted paint colors and the primer. They did not adhere properly. The body man is full of crap. GM should have repainted them. The paint is falling off my 90 1500. I have a junkyard fender that is like perfect but a different color. Iowa has little or no smog in our small town.
