Thinking of buying a high mileage 1500..
Hey everyone, incoming first post.
I've always driven cars and generally done work myself. I am however in need of a truck.
I've found a higher mileage Chevy 1500 that I can probably get for around $2400 Canadian. Blue, long box, 5.3, auto. Looks like it doesn't have any rust.
It's high mileage though, 271k km.
How well do these trucks hold up at higher mileage?
Does this look like a good idea at all? Are they easy to work on?
Thanks!

Welcome,
I had an '02 that had 317,000 (6.0 motor) when i sold her. Just bought an '06 with 148,000 (5.3 motor) on the clock. If you can do work yourself then you know what to look for before buying. Should still be strong if maintained.
Good luck

If they were well maintained with regular oil and filter changes then the motors will last much longer. See if they have maintenance records and give it a good test drive. You have to be the judge on how good of condition it is in.
