I have a 2009 Sierra with 5.3 liter engine with AFM. Anyone experience a ticking sound (like a lifter with no oil in it) at startup? I have 2500 miles on my Sierra and experienced this for the first time this morning. It lasted maybe 5 - 10 seconds and went away. I thought this issue was old and done with. Am I the lucky one to experience this or have any of you Chevy owners with 2007 + experienced this?

i have this same issue on my 04 silverado. i put in lucas oil stabilizer when i did my next oil change and the problem went away.

 

Thanks for the tip. I may try that if it continues. Of course, I'll inquire at the dealership, too, but I think I know what they are going to say.

 

I had an '07 Silverado that did the same darn thing. Went to the dealer, they told me it was normal. I also ran Mobil 1 the entire time too.
