Timing chain

Is there any other way to tell if the timing chain is stretched/broke without tearing into the engine? I'd hate to replace all these electrical (Could be) gadgets if it's nothing more then a timing chain issue. Thanks everybody..

You'd know if it was broke, The only way I can think of to tell if it's streched, is if it keeps jumpin' time for no reason... I'm not to familiar with timming chains.

Spin the crank pulley until the timing make lines up, then remove the distributor cap and make sure the rotor is lined up with #1 on the cap. If so it has not jumped. Turn the engine over by hand in the normal rotation if yo move the crank and the rotor does not move at the same exact time it is stretched. Does the truck run at all?

Sorry haen't had a chance to get back to truck. Will advise after I re-install the distributor and coil. It had no spark prior to removal. Replacing with new coil and Control module in Distributor
