I tried to put my truck into tow mode yesterday but it would not turn on. Is there a history of this problem or do I need to be worried. I thought maybe it is the switch. Is there a fuse for this somewhere? I apologize for all the questions. The truck runs great so this little issue took me by surprise yesterday. Any help is appreciated, it is the truck in my signature.

 

There is a history of the wire breaking at the clip that routes the wire down the column. The clip is near the shift lever and the wire can get sliced if it ends up int he wrong place. You need to remove the dash under/around the column to get to the wire.

there is some success in splicing back together.

OTOH, the switch can go bad and need lever replacement.
