Default Trailer Wiring Solution

I purchased a 2008 Silverado 1500 W/T and need to wire a trailer from the harness on the back bumper. It does not have a towing package, however it has a trailer wiring harness coming to the back bumper. There is a black plastic cover over the hole. How do I remove the cover without breaking it and what is the part number for the plug that goes in the hole for the trailer plug. I visited my Chevrolet dealerwhere the parts people and service people were no help.

Default RE: Trailer Wiring Solution

Look to the left of the plug. There is a lock tab that you can push is slightly and turn the plug clock wise. Connected to the plug is the trailer harness. All you have to do is go to norther tool or you local uhaul and buy a trailer plug. It is already wired.
