Change your trans fluid and filter and get a bigger tranny cooler, this is about all I know and it made my tranny run much cooler when pullin trailers on long trips

I know what you meant, you just stated it more direct. You've always provided good information. No adios.

Lots of good advice but no technical info or answer to the question. What info do I believe and why am I getting 2 different readings. I there a sensor going bonkers? I don't need any more info about aftermarket coolers just technical info.
Thanks

I can't help you. I show an internal variable resistor going into the vehicle control module, and that is shown typical on a 6 cylinder.

If have gotten something wrong OLD WRENCH please do educate us all including myself on the correct understanding of how the system works...after all it is what makes this forum work, we have to say the wrong things sometimes to get the right answer....
And as I understand it if the radiator was running at 200f then the transmission would run at that but it does not, it runs cooler typically 160-190 when not pulling and it uses the radiator to help dissipate that heat as much as possible...

Part of my job here on this forum is to help others and if it means being wrong so someone can correct me, so that others get the right info then so be it....

I wasn't asked to be a moderator on this forum just because of my rugged good looks....

Sometimes we all just have a bad day. I hope old wrench has had just that, and will return.
