I am going to service my transmission , and am looking for help . I need to know what type of fluid and brand , for a 1999 silverado z71. I am going to service my transfer case what type of lube for it ? and any tips on theese services would be appericated . thanks gtntn

 

i own a 00' sliverado 2500 6.0 and my trans takes Dexron III as for the transfer case it depends if you have a manual or automatic transfer case...if a manual lever transfer case it takes Dexron III as well if its the push button automatic transfer case it takes ATF automatic transfer fluid...double check your owners manual but thats what mine calls for hope that helps

 

The newest ATF from GM is DEXRON VI. It is far superior to DEXRON III which was also a very good fluid. The part number for a quart bottle of DEXRON VI is 88861003 and it can be uses anywhere DEXRON III was used. DEXRON VI is the assembly line fill on most 2006 GM vehicles.
