Default Transmission Fluid Change

I have a 2005 Silverado 1500 with the 5.3 and I need to get my transmission fluid changed/or drained. I've heard from some people that putting new fluid in is bad, but also heard that it is good. Just wondering your thoughts... Just drain and refill with the same fluid or put new fluid in?

get it flushed, they do it now and flush out all the fluid even in the torque convertor. I would never do my trans myself.

I've done it myself. Pull pan and jut change that fluid and the filter, then I've also done a at home "flush" so to speak. Worked like a charm. But depending on miles then it might not be a good idea. Some people get lucky, some don't
