Ok so the tranny got rebuilt.
The pump went bad and sucked the torque converter into the transmission.
I also found out that the transmission for 95 Silverados is the only compatable
Tranny for that year, no tranny out of any other year will work.
So anyway they replaced the gaskets in the transfer case cuz they said the gasket was about to go.
I am also replacing my Universals just as a precaution

Oh wait I explained it wrong...
Ok, the pump went out, flooded the transmission and the main drive got sheard
Clear off disabling all of the gears. And when they were taking it apart they
Said that the torque converter was insanely hard to get off cuz somehow it
Got kinda sucked into the transmission.
Also, they replaced all the parts with aftermarket parts superceeding OEM requirements.
New torque converter (the blue end piece seen in the pic), a new pump, new gears
And new transfer case gasket. $1,800 with a 3 year warranty

That explanation is even worse.
If the torque converter is turning so is the main(input shaft). If the pump failed the pump failed, nothing will get stuck to anything. But if the Torque converter imploded, it would balloon out and stick to the input shaft in the bellhousing of the case.
Did they tell you why they could only use a 4L60 from 1995? I d like to hear why?
I suspect they were on the fence as to when they went electric. They took it out and it looked like a 700R4 but it had electrical connections. They started electrical connections in the 1993 Model year.
But in the end, who cares. You have a rebuilt transmission with a 3 year warranty, right? Now read that warranty paperwork studiously. I have a friend who thought he knew more, paid $2200 for a trans. rebuild, never had it serviced and it failed 3 years later and then he sat there dumbfounded that he was supposed to change the oil at pre-set intervals.

Ya I will go over the warranty.
Maybe I am remembering what they said wrong, but I saw the main gear
And it was thrashed. But ya, all should be fine

Like RacerX said, folow the warranty "rules", etc.
If it says to change fluids, filters, etc..
I would have them do the service.
That way it is documented and done by them so they can not say someone else did the stuff wrong.

go to this link and it ought to tell you alot, http://www.gmtruckhq.com/?q=node/93, if you didnt keep reving it up you wouldnt have needed a rebuild but when the pump went out it stopped supplying pressurized fluid to the transmission, especially the clutches, so id imagine that the clutches and band got burnt up, so to everyone who ever experiences this, immediatly turn off the truck and do not run it, that way you canjust replace/rebuild the pump, and anyone can do that there selves, if not, doing your own tranny rebuild is quiet more challenging
