Default Transmission swap

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to get my truck up and running. Tried various things including the Neutral Safety switch but I think my tranny's burnt as the ATF coming out smells burnt.

My vehicle is a 2003 K2500HD Chevy Silverado 8ft box
Vin# 1GCHK23123F135219

the doner car is a 2005 k2500HD Chevy SIlverado Short box
Vin# 1GTHK23225F848097

Would both of these vehicles use the same allison 1000 transmission and would it fit?

thanks!

I don't think it is wise to put your VIN numbers on the inter webs... Just my .02

I'd say drop the last 3 or 4 with xxx. Those last digits are the number built. You also can decode the vin, and post what you have if not known.
