Default Transmission Wine????

Hey guys i have a 1994 chev short box reg cab. it has a five speed manual in it. i changed the oil in the tranny and now it seems to wine alot more than before. Question is what oil is recommended for this trany? I know in the book GM says to use GM 1052931. Anyone no a cross ref?

Motor Oil, Synthetic Oil, Transmission Fluid - Pennzoil recommends by a Pennzoil representative to use 5W-30 as an alternate to 1052931.

You're putting or recommending a 30w in a tranny?

I'd say a 80-90w synthetic.

K i tried a few diffrent oils and still whines.. I just did a motor swap in the truck. i put a 4.8L in it and used my same tranny. it didnt whine before when it had my old motor hooked to it. Anyone know what would cause this?? i was thinking maybe the pilot bearing is putting more pressure on the shaft?? dont really know..

like 300.000km. Just weird why it did,t do it with the other motor. It started doing it as soon as i put the other motor in it.. The transmission slid right on there no problem. Bellhousing was tight against the motor
before i put the bolts in. So it didn't seem to me like i forced anything together at all

Is it the same flywheel? If not, did you replace the pilot bushing, or at least grease it? Is it gear whine, or other noise?
