Default Tread affecting mileage?

I am needing new tires soon, and still have stock wheels, so I've been looking on craigslist and found a pretty decent looking set of wheels and tires. The wheels are 16" (same as stock), and the tires on them are the same measurement (255/70r16), but the tread looks much more aggressive.

My question is this: Would off-road-style tread affect gas mileage noticeably, or would I see about the same?

Thanks,
Zach

if it's the same size tires then no I won't affect it at a noticeable difference...more than likely about the same

IMO, an aggressive tread will affect mileage. Especially compared to a highway tread.

If your coming from a highway tire, then yes an aggressive thread tire will hurt mileage. But not on a level you will really notice. We are talking less than 1 mpg..
