Default Troubles with overhead console wiring

Looking for a little help with an overhead console I bought off ebay for a 2001 (or 2002?) Tahoe. It included the Homelink garage door openers and the dome lights. My 2007 OBS Silverado has the identical size and color console, ensuring a nice fit. The pigtail from the truck snaps right in, but it won't work right.

To operate the Homelink remote, I have to first turn on one of the dome lights (don't have to leave it on, just turn it on for a second). The dome lights also don't come when I open the door, only when I turn them on with the switch.

I've searched far and wide on the net for a wiring diagram and haven't had any luck find anything. The Tahoe pigtail that came with it was BROWN/BLACK/ORANGE. The pigtail in my truck is GRAY-BLACK/BLACK/ORANGE.

The Tahoe one is on the left. The original from my truck is on the right.
