Default Truck shut off/lost power (suspected fuel pump)

Hey guys

This evening while on the freeway my truck (2003 1500 silverado 6.0l) quickly lost power for one second. 10 seconds later it kind of sputtered a couple times then lost all power. I pulled over and tried cranking it and it would start and run very very rough for about 3 seconds. I'm suspecting fuel pump, but trying to get other ideas, really hoping to be able to fix it tomorrow before the work week starts. I am x posting this on a couple forums to try to get as many pointers before morning.

Any ideas or help is appreciated.

Do a fuel pressure test.

For future reference and others with this problem. sometimes if the fuel pump is at fault, tap on the tank with a rubber hammer to vibrate the pump and try to start it. You might even be able to pull the truck off the road or into a garage if you can get a friend to trot along beating the hammer to keep it runnin.
