Default Unknown plug

As I was trying to fix something else, I came across a plug under my dash that was unplugged. It has a green wire with white stripe and a black wire. What is it and do I need to hook it back up? Where does it hook to?

Under your dash is not enough info, there are alot of wires under there. More info is needed for us to help you. What was it by? What side of truck? How far up the dash? Hanging down under dash? You need for us to be able to visualize what your seeing. Have another look and try again.

Sorry. New to the forum. Still learning. It's on the driver side coming out of the steering harness.

Sorry I have an 2004 so i cant look for you. But there are alot of knowledgeable people on here that can help you out. I might suggest trying to find a wiring schematic online for a 1998 silverado.

Go to autozone.com. Create an account, enter your vehicle info, open repair information. Chassis wiring diagrams are there online with wire color codes.
