yea, but you will have to take the door panels off to get to the speakers for the front two doors, and also for the back if its a crew cab, but if i was use i would leave the bose speakers in.

Hi nmbchevy99,

Welcome to the Chevy Forums.

Yes, it's very do-able. You just want to be certain what you're putting in is better than what you're taking out. My original system had the 12Db/octave crossovers, so when one speaker blew, they all started to fry in cascade.

Online Car Stereo has great prices, but make sure the shipper holds them for pickup at the customer service center, or UPS will bust your *****.

I'd go to eBay or crutchfield.com for stereo equipment. Also, doing it yourself will save you a looot over professional installation.

If you add aftermarket speakers using the factory amp, which set of wires do you use to go to the aftermarket crossover. Meaning, are the factory crossovers in the amp or on the speaker?

It depends. If you get "component speakers" they come with their own separate crossovers. Wire to the head unit or factory amp go up to the crossovers, then from the crossovers you run the wires to the speakers.

If they are just standard speakers without the crossovers, you just follow the standard wiring. Be sure you get the polarity correct.
