Need help in upgrading my silverado !!!!
Need help. Please im stuck between getting a cold air and chip. but dont know the best ones out there what chip should i get and cold air if i where to get one. would a throttle body be a good upgrade. Thanks
Don't get the chip...not worth the money. I found out the hard way. But I sold it and am goin to get headers and a wheatley tune. But I have a volant intake and i've loved it ever since. I did put a K&N filter in it though and idk about the throttle body. Depends on what other upgrades you're goin to do
tunes are better than chips alot of guys around here like the black bear tune
air intakes are a good simple upgrade to start with thats the next thing im goin to buy for my truck
im getting spectre air intake looks and works the same as k&n but alot cheaper
the one for my truck is 118$ with free shiping from autoanything
next thing im doing after that is exhaust
witch i would love to get headers to 2 highflo cats and a x-pipe to 2 dynomax bullets with turndowns but i dont have the money for that lol

Chips suck, tunes are awesome.
I think most people follow this order:
Intake -> Catback -> Hi Flow Cats & X Pipe -> Headers -> Tune
Then you get into more technical stuff. Those should be plenty for a daily driver though. Headers/tune are going to be the biggest power adders, but they are reliant on the intake/catback/xpipe to make their full power. That and the price is why those are usually picked first.
From what I have read, our TBs flow plenty for bolt-ons and are not needed until cams/heads are changed. Although, it is a very cheap mod to grind off the restrictor plate on the TB butterfly. Stupid thing blocks off about 1/4 of the air path at WOT.
