Weird Problem 93 Sierra
Here recently my 93 Sierra V-6 automatic has started doing this odd thing where when I start to slow for a stop, and approach 15---10---down to a stop, it feels like the torque converter is "not turning loose" of the engine, OR its not down shifting and trying to stay in 4th or 3rd, whatever. (OD is burned out) The check engine comes on when it does this. I do not think its the transmission, because I have put it in neutral when it starts to do it, and it still does it. I can tap on the gas a little and it will "snap out of it". I know this odd...anyone?
I have been told that when the "BRAKE" light blinks and irregular pattern, its actually telling a code number. flash once, flash twice= "12"...for example. Today I disconnected the battery for 30 seconds, cleared out the computer, brake light quit flashing, no more weird trying to stall at stops...(???) I went to O"Reillys where they offer free "check engine light" tests, and they couldn't even find a plug in terminal under my dash board, and the guy was not an idiot, rather an old retired mechanic from the generation of my '93. A lot of stuff has been re-wired and changed on my truck. I bought it from a B1 Bomber pilot, so there's no telling what the hell he did to it. All I know is it was meticulously cared for, had it's mouth and butt wiped at every feeding...pristine truck.
