im looking at an 03 1500hd 4x4 with a 6.0 motor in it with 125K.
this is going to be my first chevy truck.
what should i look out for on this truck?
what kind of gas mileage should i expect to get?
how long untill i should have to make any major repairs?

Expect 12mpg. Anything better be grateful. I get 15mpg out of mine, but it took some money to get it there. As with any vehicle, if it's been well maintained, it'll be good to go for awhile. I've been seeing a large portion of 03-05s lately with a good 225,000 miles, and still going strong. The intake manifold gasket seems to be an issue on a few 03s, but thats not a huge deal. IMO, the trans will prolly be the first thing to have an issue, maybe wheel bearings.
