Default what to look for

I am going to look at a 2004 Silverado 4wd 5.3 auto with 75,000 miles on it. The owner disclosed the tach and water temp gauge do not work.
The truck has been sitting and i am told the battery is dead. I looked underneath and its dry as a bone, it has no trailer hitch. with all this forums combined wisdom what should i look for? THANK YOU

My main concerns would be:
1. Rust on the undercarriage and body.
2. Drive train, engine and transmission. Some of the seals and gaskets could be in less than desirable condition due to the age of them.
3. Proper preventive maintenance being performed. Was the oil changed in a timely manner? Look at the air filter and see if it dirty, if so then the vehicle may not have had filters and lubricant changed in a while.
4. Fluids in the axles, here again due to the age and the low mileage there is the possibility of water in the axles, either from condensation or driving the truck through deep water.
5. Previous mechanical work done on the vehicle, as we all know some "mechanics" perform repairs better than others, if the previous owner did not have a good mechanic perform repairs correctly then there could be some issues with any repairs that may have been done.

He Did mention that he had the front axle bearings changed.
On my minor inspection the frame rails looked very clean
with little surface rust. it is in a concrete driveway.

the cluster gauges are a easy and cheap fix. solder in some new stepper motors.

It turned out it was not a 5.3 it was a 4.8. Runs smooth as glass. i want to keep it that way. First on agenda change ALL fluids and filters, any objections? I do feel some thumping in steering while turning right or left
that is like on a off or on ramp. why did my Font change and what the hell is a font? Thanks for all your help

possibly a intermediate steering shaft noise.
the 4.8 is gutless but it will run forever. if the 4.8 ever dies in mine, I'm bolting in a 5.3
