Default What transmissions are compatible?

i have a 93 k1500 5.7 and the reverse is screwy, like to the point that i have to do the ol' Flintstones foot push to get it going, and i'm wondering whats my options on a ttransmission to match to...... year and models compatible?

4 speed overdrive automatic?

Either the 4L60 or 4L60E. I'm not sure which it would be in '93. The older unit will have a throttle valve (TV) cable on the throttle body. The "E" version doesn't use a throttle valve cable because it's Electronically controlled.

If it's the NON-"E" version, any TH 700-R4 or 4L60 from '88 or newer that came from behind a V-8 would probably be acceptable as long as it bolts into the transfer case.

I can't help you much if the thing has the electronic version. I suppose any 4L60E or 4L65E from behind a Chevy small-block (probably NOT the LS-series engine) will work provided it has the correct output shaft/transfer case adapter...but I don't have much experience there.

yeah it's the electronic 16 or so prong. i thanks i have another question and i think i'll start a new post asking "when i order a transmission for my 93 k1500 is there anything particular other than a 4wd 4l60E that i need to ask for?" and is a 2wd 4l60e as simple as taking the tall off and putting the transfer case on it. can i just look at the two transmissions and decide that i should remove "this" certain bolts and put the transfer case off of the broken transmission on?
