Default Wheel and Tire question

I own a 1996 Z with the factory 16 inch wheels on it. Im wanting to put 15x10 rims with 33x12.50 tires without using a lift. Will they fit with minor rubbing? Has anyone tried this and had success with it?

33" s aren't that tall. About 5 inches taller than a 235/75/15. Minor rubbing IS rubbing. It will rub even worse on bounces, and thats when damage will happen. Also consider the loss of 1" going from 16's to 15's. The 12 and 1/2 inch wides would worry me though. You might go with a 10.5" width.

You should have the clearance there already. Z71 has 16's? Stock size lt245/75/16's. I work at a tire shop. We do have 31's there, but not 33's. I'll compare it all up for you at work tommorrow.
