I have a 2004 Silverado (5.3L V8) and my level always appears to be a bit below the "FULL" mark. It has been that way ever since I got the truck and two mechanics have told me that as long as it stays right where it is, then I am good to go.

It had DEXCOOL anti-freeze when I bought it used in 2010 and I had the coolant flushed out & replaced at that time. I had it done again this spring (after four years) and it always stays at the same level.....so I would assume it is okay.

Just keep an eye on it and you should be good to go on your 2003.
