New here so bear with me. MY 5.3 Chevy Silverado had a fixed orfice PCV and parts store sold me one with check ball. Will this hurt anything or should I put the old one back? It really wasn't bad.

I think 03 or 04 and newer is a fixed orifice style ( Integrated in the drivers side valve cover ) you need to replace the valve cover itself.
