have a 94 1500 4.3. wipers kinda come on whenever they please. for a while i'd turn them on and after about 5 minutes they'd start to work but no washer.
then since they needed new blades i put them on and like a miracle they started working like they're supposed to even the washer started working.
but alas, they have once again stopped working. this time it looks like for good.
any ideas?

 

Yes...get a new car. :-D

Nah, just kidding. If they operate when its "dry", then i think you have a small leak in the wiper engine(s). Which causes some kind of short circuit.
So check the wiper engines. (They are pretty easy to get by).

 

had this issue with my 89. there is a pulse control board that runs the whole sha-bang, it's in a housing attached to the wiper motor, wires plug into it, it plugs into the motor. that would be the first thing i check. usually about 25 dollars at the parts store.
