Default won't go in 4wd

I have a 2003 Silverado Z71 ext. cab. Today when I crank it the check 4wd alarm came on and it will not go in 4wd hi or lo. I read somewhere to pull the fuge under the hood for a minute to reset it. I did it for 20 min, and it still don't work, it just blinks on the dash switch. I have a scanner and it did not pick up any codes under the dash. is there another place to hook up for the transfer case, and is there some kind of trouble shooting to find out if it is the dash switch or the transfer case acuator. Any help will be appreciated. I have an ohm meter, but i ain't no electrician so i need to know what it should read thanks again

replace switch. mine failed exactly same way. they are known to go bad at 50-60 000 miles. on my 2001 it was about 5 minute job. Lowered steering wheel all the way down, pried dash trim off, removed switch, put new one in, re-placed dash trim panel. done.

Before replacing any part check all the grounds especially the one under drivers door on frame looking forward. There is another ground near the driver side fog light area. Clean area real good and then repaint to protect them. Next try dash switch but stay away from dorman chinese crap. Next onto the transfer motor, again stay away from dorman, try a USA rebuilt one. Last is the module located behind the dash on the left of steering, hard to get out without some wiggling. Good Luck, I have a 2001 Silverado 1500 LT and started with grounds then dash switch then T/C motor and it ended up being the module.
