I'm new to this, but someone seemed to think if I posted my VIN for my Silverado, maybe some one out there could tell me what package it is and stuff that is on it? I'm not sure what the Base/LT/LS means. Here goes, the Vin is: 1GCEK19T61E147818 Hope some one can help me out. Not even sure if I can find where to look for a response to this?! Thanks

Any responses will look just like this one you are reading from me..
There are several VIN decoders that can be found on the web, you may also take your VIN to a local dealership parts department and they can give you a print out or you may also try sending a private message to the Chevrolet Customer Service via this forum and see if they can get you the details....
You can find Chevrolet Customer Service here, click on send a private message to send them your info Chevrolet Forum - Chevy Enthusiasts Forums - View Profile: Chevrolet Customer Service
Post a few pictures of the new to you ride![Smile](https://chevroletforum.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Thank you so much for the info. I'm excited to see what we've got. Our "old" truck is a '92 2500 4x4 with only 515,000ish miles. It wants to go but the frame is rusted and won't pass inspection any longer. We've nursed it as long as we could.

I would say that you got more than your money's worth out of it.
Regarding the 2001 Silverado, it was built in the USA -- because the VIN beings with a 1.
My 2004 hails from Canada, as its VIN starts with a 2.

Look in the glove box for the tag that has all the RPO codes listed. The codes tell you what chevy installed in the truck. Then search for a web site that has a list of codes and what the mean

I will take all of the help y'all have offered. This "new" truck has 221,00miles and we're hoping she holds up as well as the old one. I'll try to get a few pics and figure out how to post. Again, thank you.
