this is a very common thing with the aveo engine belt should be replaced every 50000 miles

I have a 2010 Aveo and according to the owners manual the timing belt should be replaced at 100,000 miles. The drive train warranty (100,000 miles) also says that as long as the belt is replaced according to recommendations, damage done by a failed timing belt is covered. I took the owners manual and the warranty to the dealer. The service manager initially told me that the belt needed to be replaced at 60,000 miles but when I showed them my manual they had to agree with me. They checked their computer and found that a new and improved belt that cost twice as much as the one used in 2009 was now being used. (I do plan on replacing the timing belt much sooner than 100,000 miles)
